Grant requests up to $50,000 will be considered through this competitive application process. Grants will be awarded for the purpose of generating increased visitation and economic impact to celebrate and amplify Stark County’s stories through America 250 programming, events, special exhibitions, unique cultural experiences, and community initiatives.
Goals
The goals of the Stark Stories: America 250 Grant Program include:
- Enhancing and elevating Stark County’s destination defining programming, special exhibitions and community assets commemorating America 250.
- Propel and highlight the America 250 untold stories in Stark County.
- Further the America 250-OH Commission’s mission to further the reach of America 250-OH related programming and special events.
- Foster community collaboration through America 250 celebrations.
Funding Information
- Grant requests up to $50,000 will be considered through this competitive application process.
- Minimum project budget must be at least $2,000. Minimum award for grant program will be $1,500.
Grant Period
July 1, 2025-December 31, 2026.
Eligible Projects
Projects should target the development of elevated programming, events, special exhibitions, unique cultural experiences, and community initiatives that share stories related to America 250. They should align with the America 250-OH mission and enhance the experience that the organization is offering to the public to increase the likelihood of visitation.
Project proposals are not limited to, but may focus on one or more of the following:
- Museum or Cultural Institution Exhibitions.
- Entertainment including Live Music, Dancing, Concerts, Theatrical Productions, Speaker Series.
- Educational Programming.
- Public Art Displays.
- Signage and/or Commemorative Banners.
- Special Events including Fairs, Festivals and Parades.
- Historical Reenactments or Living History Programs.
- Documentaries, Oral History and Historic Preservation Projects.
- Veteran Programs or Recognition.
- Initiatives aligned with America 250-OH and America 250 Commission Programming.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible organizations include, but are not limited to, arts and cultural organizations, local planning committees, Chambers of Commerce, local governments, non-profit organizations, and for-profit enterprises. One application per organization will be accepted for consideration for this grant program. If a for-profit enterprise is a lead or a partner applicant, the project must reflect a partnership and/or economic benefit for the community or county at large.
