Impact Grants are designed to fund smaller needs, or new and/or innovative programs that fulfill identified gaps in service in Greater Fall River and align with three of the four key impact areas: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, and Financial Security. Examples of focus areas within the key impact areas below:
- Healthy Community
- Improving health and wellbeing for all – examples include:
- Healthcare access
- Maternal and child health
- Healthy spaces and physical activity
- Mental health support
- Improving health and wellbeing for all – examples include:
- Youth Opportunity
- Financial Security
Funding Information
UWGFR will consider one (1) funding request annually per agency, up to $10,000.
Grant Period
UWGFR runs on a fiscal year from July 1 – June 30.
Eligibility Criteria
- 501c3 nonprofit health and human service agencies within the United Way of Greater Fall River (UWGFR) service area are invited to apply for Impact Grant funding. Food and Community Resiliency distribution partners are NOT eligible for this grant as there is a separate grant funding stream specific to this need. The service area includes Assonet, Fall River, Somerset, Swansea, and Westport, MA and Tiverton and Little Compton, RI.
- Programs must align with UWGFR’s key impact areas: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, and Financial
- Security, and demonstrate deep impact on individuals and families. Applicants are encouraged to use data to demonstrate the need for the program in the community.
- Special consideration will be given to programs that foster collaboration and eliminate duplication, help build capacity, target underserved populations and BIPOC individuals, and promote racial equity.
- Agencies should consider the UWGFR and United Way Worldwide Impact Goals and Racial Equity Strategies in their program submission.
Grant Exclusions
United Way of Greater Fall River does not provide funding for:
- Individuals, nor do they provide stipends given directly to individuals
- Endowments
- Capital projects or improvements
- Fundraising, sponsorships, and/or events
- Debt or existing obligations
- Organizations or programs designed to elect candidates to public office
- Programs located outside of the service area
- Administrative or fundraising costs
- Food security (these programs are funded in a different cycle).
