The Foundation care about relates to nature restoring ecosystems, protecting water quality, promoting renewable energy, conserving wetlands and wildlands, supporting regenerative organic agriculture and soil health, and encouraging active, sustainable outdoor recreation.
The Lintilhac Foundation is currently considering grant requests in these Core Giving Areas:
- Land conservation, especially projects that include recreational access to backcountry lands, and integrative land use planning.
- Healthy food and farming, with special focus on regenerative organic agriculture and local access to healthy food.
- Water quality, with a special focus on advocacy and university-level scientific research.
- Energy, with special focus on renewable energy policies.
Within the Core Giving Areas, they consider requests for:
- Organizations serving the state of Vermont
- Project support, general operating expenses
- Grants between $5,000 and $30,000
- One-year funding.
Foundation Legacy Giving is focused into two fields:
- Women’s Reproductive Health
- Midwifery and lactation support
- Supporting women’s mental and emotional health, before and after childbirth
- Media and civic engagement
Grants Requirements
All grant awards are subject to the following conditions:
- Grantees may only use the grant funds in support of the project described in the grant obligation, and may not use the funds for any other purposes.
- Each calendar year, a written report must be submitted, describing how the funds were actually deployed in connection with the project. Once all the grant funds are expended, a final report must be submitted describing how the funds were used.
- We trust that grant awards are handled appropriately. However, if we determine that grant funds were spent for purposes unrelated to the project described in the grant, we have the right to ask for the return of any funds that were inappropriately spent.
Ineligibility
In general, they do not accept proposals for:
- Individuals
- Churches
- Unsolicited capital campaign projects that fall outside of the Core Giving Areas (such as building construction, renovation, equipment acquisition, or endowment fund).
- More than one proposal from an organization in any given year.
