The Business Resiliency Grant program is designed to encourage existing business growth, expansion and sustainability through matching grants of up to $5000, and is limited to customer facing, sales tax producing entities.

Details:

An extensive list of potential uses is possible including online sales platform development, marketing program development, equipment acquisition, projecting signage, green/sustainable enhancements, etc.  Project limited to general operational, maintenance or replacement costs will not be considered eligible.

Uses of funds

Potential uses may include, but are not limited to the following: acquiring staff/professional services, equipment or technology, or making physical improvements that allow for expanding program offerings, adding product lines, increase productivity, improve operational efficiencies, add/improve online sales platforms, new digital advertising campaigns, developing a marketing plan, developing a succession plan, purchasing new permanent outdoor offerings, product displays, adding projecting signage, green/sustainability improvements, and fire or sprinkler alarm addition or upgrade. Additional uses may be eligible upon Staff review of applicant information clarifying how the proposed use of grant funds will meet program objectives. General operation, maintenance and replacement costs will not be considered.

Limitations

Business must:

  • have been in operation within the Libertyville municipal limits for at least one year;
  • have an approved application for occupancy on file;
  • produce sales tax collected by Libertyville;
  • have a significant portion of operations derived by walk-in customer traffic;
  • not operate as a home-based business;
  • not be identified as a not-for-profit entity.
  • Have a minimum 2-year lease remaining from application date

Business may be required to meet with a counselor of the IL Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the College of Lake County (CLC) to develop/refine a business or marketing plan as a condition of receiving reimbursement.
