Dated: March 16, 2022

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) is pleased to announce the availability of two $25,000 humanities grants funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) entitled “A More Perfect Union: Understanding the Importance of Culture and Community in the U.S. Virgin Islands.”

Donor Name: Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI)

U.S. Territory: U.S. Virgin Islands

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline (mm/dd/yyyy): 03/21/2022

Size of the Grant: $25,000

Grant Duration: 9 months

Details:

CFVI invites proposals from humanities organizations to explore the contributions that individuals from the U.S. Virgin Islands have made to the nation and the world.

CFVI is committed to equitable grantmaking and will consider geographic diversity and the importance of reaching underrepresented communities in its funding decisions.

Specifically, the project will explore and address the questions:

What is it about the mosaic of life in the U.S. Virgin Islands which has produced a contemporary (1917-current day) diaspora with an extraordinary number of successful individuals representing diverse spheres of interest? What can be done to protect, preserve and enhance this mosaic, and sustain a thriving culture and community in the USVI?
