Details:

Racial Equity Fellowship program for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) leaders who work in Los Angeles County’s homeless response sector, demonstrate strong leadership and commitment to centering racial equity and justice in the work. The Racial Equity Fellowship is designed for BIPOC leaders in mid-to-senior management positions who aspire to leadership at the executive and C-suite levels.

The Fellowship Experience

  • Creates space and time for individual introspection to ground Fellows in the truth of their innate leadership abilities.
  • Cultivates an expansive learning environment that advances problem-solving and designs solutions rooted in the wisdom of those most impacted by systemic injustice.
  • Develops connections, partnerships, and accountability between peers from similar professional journeys.

Over the course of the 9-month program, Fellows will

  • Work in collaboration and partnership with peers to examine the root causes of homelessness and identify gaps and contradictions within the system.
  • Create a framework for centering racial equity and justice in their leadership approach.
  • Access development opportunities including executive coaching, healing and wellness practices, and sessions on crafting a leadership narrative.
  • Expand and deepen the sector’s BIPOC leadership network, creating a support system for accountability, resource sharing, and continued learning

Supports

  • Each Fellow will receive a one-time $2,500 unrestricted stipend paid directly.
  • Each Fellow will have an opportunity to receive executive coaching.
  • Each Fellow will have access to sessions to help you craft and communicate your personal leadership narrative and identity.
  • Each Fellow will participate in half-day sessions every third Thursday of the month from 12:00-4:00 pm starting September 2022 to May 2023

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must identify as Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color (BIPOC).
  • Must work at an organization or agency within L.A. County’s homeless response sector.
  • Must currently hold a mid-to-senior level management position, 5-7 years of experience.
  • Must have a track record of impact in your organization or within the sector.
  • Must attend all Fellowship sessions.
