Dated: March 10, 2022

The Public Health – Seattle & King County is seeking applications for its Youth Marijuana Prevention & Education Program to work with communities, partners, and other YMPEP contractors to reduce marijuana initiation and use among King County youth by supporting policies, systems, and environmental (PSE) prevention strategies that promote healthy youth behaviors.

Donor Name: Public Health – Seattle & King County

State: Washington

County: King County (WA)

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 03/21/2022

Size of the Grant: $2,449 to $9,999

Grant Duration: 3 Months

Details:

To promote a more equitable distribution of resources, KC-YMPEP prioritizes funding for populations most impacted by social and health disparities that contribute to marijuana use risk factors. Identified priority populations for the King County region include youth in Seattle and South King County, LGBTQ+ youth, Black, Indigenous, Latinx youth and youth of color, and youth experiencing multiple risk factors for marijuana use. The general areas of work for this mini-grant are:

  • Supporting youth leadership skill-building;
  • Youth-led assessment, analysis, and reporting on marijuana advertising and retail in communities;
  • Youth-led adaptation and promotion of marijuana prevention campaigns;
  • Youth-led media awareness training for peers.
