The Christ Church, Frederica Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Scholarship for Women will award a $3,000 ($1,500 per semester) academic scholarship to a female student who is either a high school senior and has been accepted to a US college, university, or technical school; or is currently attending a college, university or technical school and is in good standing.
Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Affiliated with an Episcopal Church
- Hail from Glynn or McIntosh County
- Demonstrated attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship. This includes at church, school, workplace, and within the community.
- Demonstrated active involvement in extracurricular activities.
- Demonstrated financial need (will be considered but not required).
- Completion of online application to include:
- Two letters of recommendation (one from an academic instructor and one from church Rector or Priest).
- An original essay (750-word limit) describing yourself, your future interests, financial need, and how faith influences your choices.
- High School students must submit a copy of an acceptance letter to the selected college, university, or technical school.
- High school students must submit an official copy of high school transcript, including SAT/ACT test scores.
- Current college, university, or technical school students must submit grades and proof of current “academic standing.”
