The purpose of the Education Innovation and Research is to provide funding to create, develop, implement, replicate, or take to scale entrepreneurial, evidence-based, field-initiated innovations to improve student achievement and attainment for high-need students; and rigorously evaluate such innovations. These projects may include activities authorized under section 4611 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended (ESEA). Priority shall be given to entities proposing projects that are designed to address the needs listed under section 461 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965.
