The Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District (District) is a public health agency with the mission of protecting public health and property from the harmful effects of air pollution.
The Clean Air Funds Program is funded in part by vehicle registration fees collected within the District to fund projects that reduce air pollution from mobile sources and from a small portion of property tax collected from northeast Solano County.
This annual grant program has $421,000 available in funding for local projects that will reduce emissions from mobile sources of air pollution within the District. Grants are awarded on a competitive basis by the District’s Board of Directors.
There are four qualifying project categories: Clean Vehicle Technology, Alternative Transportation, Transit Services and Public Education. Previous projects include bicycle infrastructure and rack installation, EV charging and infrastructure replacement, and public outreach programs.
Eligibility Criteria
The Clean Air Funds program seeks to encourage private businesses, non-profit organizations, and public agencies to pursue cost-effective, impactful projects designed to reduce pollution emissions from mobile sources within the District through grant funding.
