The City of Deerfield Beach is committed to supporting organizations that contribute to the public welfare of its community. The City of Deerfield Beach ARPA Grant was established to support local non-profit organizations efforts in implementing programs, activities and services that mitigate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the Deerfield Beach community that have been disproportionately impacted by the virus. The goal of the grant is to strengthen the City’s resilience and facilitate an equitable pandemic recovery.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a 501(C)(3)
- Program or service is predominantly for residents within the City of Deerfield Beach.
- Program or service addresses an urgent need and immediate response to COVID-19 and/or its long-term relief efforts.
- Program or service supports vulnerable populations and or first responders (seniors, children, homeless, low-income displaced workers, and or those without financial resources to remain safe from COVID-19).
Target Populations
Under the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Final Rule, Subrecipients may presume that a household or population that experienced unemployment, increased food or housing insecurity, or is a low- or moderate-income household, is an eligible beneficiary of an ARPA grant-funded program. As well, individuals who receive the following services are eligible beneficiaries:
- Services that help expand or provide broadband and or internet services to
- vulnerable populations or those listed below
- Services that provide COVID-19 mitigation and or prevention
- Services to households receiving the following types of assistance:
- Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
- Childcare subsides through the Child Care and Development Fund Program (CCDF)
- Free and Reduced-Price Lunch (NSLP) and/or School Breakfast (SBP) programs
- Medicare Part D Low-Income Subsidies
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Head Start and/ or Early Head Start
- Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
- Title 1 eligible schools
- Medicaid
- National Housing Trust Fund (HTF) for affordable housing
- Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME)
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children)
- Section 8 Vouchers
- Low-income and socially vulnerable populations
- Persons in congregate care settings such as nursing homes, foster-care group
- homes, incarcerated individuals.
