Community Impact: Imagining Multidisciplinary Pathways to Assist, Care & Thrive Grant

Futures Without Violence invites applications from community-based organizations to implement field-generated projects to serve and support victims of hate crime in the communities that they serve, thereby promoting awareness, healing, reconciliation, service access and/or resource development.

Details:

Through a cooperative agreement with the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), Futures Without Violence (FUTURES), seeks to strengthen the capacity of communities to better serve and support victims of hate crime.

FUTURES will select field-generated community-based projects that are responsive to individuals and groups most often targeted/impacted for hate crime due to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, perceived immigration status, ancestry, religion, and age.

FUTURES encourages community based, innovative approaches and/or strategies to address hate crimes in the targeted communities. Those efforts would ultimately lead to increased awareness, healing, reconciliation, and/or increased access to available services/resources.

Funding Information

  • FUTURES will review submitted applications and select twelve community-based organizations to receive subawards between $50,000 – $125,000 to support fieldgenerated projects to respond to hate crimes in their communities.
  • Subawards are for a 12-18 month period. The project period is expected to start on or before October 1, 2022.

Eligibility Criteria

FUTURES welcomes applications from all eligible community-based organizations. Eligible community-based organizations include:

  • Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments);
  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education;
  • Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; and
  • Small businesses.

Eligible community-based organizations may optionally propose projects that seek to partner other organization(s). In the case of partnership proposals, only one eligible community-based organization should apply as lead applicant.

Such organizations may include, but are not limited to, organizations and agencies that support victims and communities impacted by hate crime. Community
