Flexible Support grants will allow NextFifty Initiative to ensure investments benefit older adults and/or their caregivers while also providing organizations or programs focused on the older adult population (50+) with the flexibility to put resources where they are most needed to generate impact. This could include but is not limited to:
- Supporting costs associated with a new, innovative project targeted toward older adults or their caregivers
- Funding an organization seeking to start up older adult programs or services
- Contributing to organizations that have long served older adults who need funding to support existing programs or services
NextFifty Initiative is committed to social equity and expects grantees to demonstrate performance accountability that is free from discrimination on the basis of age, race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, color, religion, national origin, disability, military status, genetic information, or any other protected status. In addition, NextFifty Initiative seeks proposals that target the most underserved in the aging sector, including, but not limited to: BIPOC, disabled, homeless, LGBTQ, low-income, rural, and vulnerable communities.

What will NextFifty Initiative consider funding?
Grant requests must be directed toward the aging or the aging-disabled population age 50 and over, or the caregivers of these populations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Single-year grants will be made to nonprofit entities organized under sections 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and 501(c)(6) of the IRS code that are in good standing with the state or jurisdiction in which the organization resides.
- Governmental entities are also eligible for funding.
- Organizations that received a Flexible Support grant in 2021 are not eligible to submit a request for this cycle of funding until July 2022.
