Perenchio Foundation’s Capital Improvements Grants (California)

Dated: April 4, 2023

The Perenchio Foundation is seeking applications for its Capital Improvements Grants to support arts organizations with short-term funding for maintenance, repairs, and/or upgrades of facilities and equipment/technology that can be implemented within less than 18 months.

Donor Name: Perenchio Foundation

State: California

County:

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 06/08/2023

Size of the Grant: $10,000 to $300,000

Grant Duration: 18 months

Details:

The Perenchio Foundation believes that the arts play an essential role in creating more equitable, culturally vibrant, and inclusive communities.

These funds are intended to increase the functionality of workspaces, foster improved communication and collaboration, and help organizations lay the groundwork for a long-term future.

Types of projects supported by this grant include:

CATEGORY 1: FACILITIES IMPROVEMENTS

  • Completing small renovations to improve building infrastructure (for example: ADA compliance-related enhancements, upgrading HVAC system, replacing roof)
  • Making upgrades to increase building functionality for programming (for example: installing new flooring, venue signage)

CATEGORY 2: EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY

  • Purchasing and/or installing hardware for staff or programs (for example: cameras, computers, production printer, audio/visual equipment)
  • Implementing database (for example: donor management software)
  • Redesigning and developing website
  • Purchasing supplies for programs (for example: drafting tables, paint, kiln, instruments, costumes)

These grants will support one project per organization. This means organizations may submit one application for funding to cover facilities improvements OR equipment/technology, but may not request funding for a combination of these categories or submit multiple applications. Each bullet point in the examples above is considered one project.

Funding Information

Grant amounts are anticipated to range from $10,000 to $300,000. Funding will vary based on the project needs and proposed budget submitted with each application. Requests from organizations that have not received funding from the Perenchio Foundation will be prioritized.
