Details:

Ed-Prize is a grant program that inspires and accelerates new solutions to improve education outcomes across the country. State Policy Network, thanks to the generous support of the Walton Family Foundation, seeks to invest in ambitious, innovative projects—ones that advance flexible learning models, drive accountability through transparency, empower education entrepreneurs, and improve performance in K-12 education programs and finances.

SPN seeks proposals that fit within two primary areas of focus: policy development and civil society.

Policy Development

  • Create public policy solutions to:
    • Increase access to blended/digital education in rural school districts to empower children in traditionally low-performing regions to achieve better educational outcomes;
    • Demonstrate a clear path to improvements in education outcomes via student performance data, especially in schools with documented poor performance; and/or
    • Increase transparency in education financing to empower parents and teachers to hold their schools accountable.

Civil Society

  • Implement solutions that directly improve student outcomes:
    • Create non-traditional education options or alternatives
    • Launch outreach programs to engage parents in creating better education options in their communities; and/or
    • Implement curriculum or programs that work with current public or private schools.
    • SPN will not accept or consider applications for school choice initiatives unless they offer novel, transformational approaches to school choice. Their intent is for Ed-Prize to inspire new solutions to improve education outcomes across the country.

Funding Information

Amounts will range from $20,000 to $75,000.
