The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ® (ASPCA) is inviting proposals for funding for capacity-building and preparedness for future natural disasters from authorized disaster response organization(s) providing direct support to companion animals, equines, and their pet parents in communities at high risk for catastrophic natural disasters.

Donor Name: American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

State: All States

County: All Counties

U.S. Territories: American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline (mm/dd/yyyy): 07/18/2022

Size of the Grant: $25,000 – $100,000

Details:

The ASPCA® was founded on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment by humans. They welcome and encourage diverse candidates to apply for our grant opportunities in the interest of working together to improve the lives of animals in need.

Funding Information

Grants will range generally from $25,000 – $100,000.

Eligibility Criteria

Grant seekers must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be an established nonprofit or governmental entity located within the United States and territories
  • Must be an authorized disaster response organization integrated into a jurisdiction’s emergency disaster response through an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), by being written into the jurisdiction’s disaster plan, by way of a formal request on official letterhead from an agency having jurisdiction, or by similar means that verify the organization’s official and ongoing role
  • If a past ASPCA® grant recipient, must be current on all reporting requirements

  • field rescue gear and supplies
  • animal transport equipment and supplies, including vehicles for local evacuation
  • pet supply caches for disaster-related community distribution
  • generators

Funding is not available for regular operating costs, including salaries or costs related to repairing existing infrastructure (including vehicles).
