This program will bring together youth across the state to help address urgent challenges in their communities, while simultaneously learning key skills and earning money to help create career pathways.
Californians For All has three primary goals:
- GOAL 1: Increase youth employment
- GOAL 2: Develop career pathways
- GOAL 3: Strengthen city/community capacity to address key areas of food insecurity, climate, and COVID-19 recovery
Funding Information
The City has allocated approximately $1 million of the CFA Grant for the pilot Climate Action and Resiliency Youth and Young Adult Pathways Program.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the minimum requirements outlined below:
- Eligible Applicants must be a non-profit organization or a governmental entity with a climate-related mission.
- If an Applicant is a non-profit organization, it must be registered and in good standing with the California Attorney General: Registry of Charitable Trusts.
- If an Applicant is a non-profit corporation, the organization must provide evidence of tax-exempt status pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
- If an Applicant is an organization, the organization must have been in existence for at least one full year prior to November 1, 2021, and be able to provide budget and program information beginning November 1, 2020, if requested.
- Applicants must be based in the City of Sacramento.
- Applicants cannot discriminate in violation of any state or federal law, including laws that prohibit discrimination based on race, color, sex, creed, religion, national origin, age, marital status, ancestry, medical condition, disability (including HIV and AIDS), sexual orientation, or gender identity.
- Applicants must meet the City’s requirements for general liability insurance ($1 million per occurrence). Proof of insurance must be provided prior to executing a grant agreement.
- Applicants must be registered as a supplier with the City of Sacramento prior to executing a grant agreement.
- Applicants must disclose other Coronavirus Relief Funds received from the City (e.g., a loan through the City’s Small Business Loan Program), or other funds received from other government agencies (e.g., PPP or EIDL). 11)
- Other eligibility requirements.
- Grant recipients are required to work with the City staff throughout the grant process, and all grant funds must be expended by no later than December 31, 2023.
