The purpose of the KTDRR Center is to promote the use of high-quality disability and rehabilitation research that is relevant to the needs of people with disabilities and other stakeholders, by serving as the main knowledge translation (KT) resource for other NIDILRR grantees. NIDILRR will make one grant with a 60 month performance period and five 12-month budget periods.
All activities of the KTDRR Center must be conducted in partnership with relevant stakeholders. These stakeholders must include people with disabilities, including people with disabilities from underserved communities. People with disabilities from underserved communities may include Black, Latino, and Indigenous and Native American persons; Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and other persons of color; members of religious minorities; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) persons; persons who live in rural areas; or persons otherwise adversely affected by persistent poverty or inequality.

Outcomes
The KTDRR Center must contribute to the following outcomes:
- Increased use of valid and relevant disability, independent living, and rehabilitation research findings to inform decision-making by people with disabilities, including people with disabilities from underserved communities, and other stakeholders.
- Increased knowledge and use of KT principles, methods, and best practices among NIDILRR grantees, including NIDILRR KT Centers. These principles, methods, and practices must include but are not limited to those focused on meaningful inclusion of people with disabilities, including people with disabilities from underserved communities, and other stakeholders in research and KT activities, as well as the use of social media and other popular media outlets to disseminate and promote research-based information.
- Integration of disability, independent living, and rehabilitation research and KT perspectives into domestic and international knowledge translation organizations, and organizations that produce systematic reviews.

- States; public or private agencies, including for-profit agencies; public or private organizations, including for-profit organizations; IHEs; and Indian tribes and tribal organizations. Foreign entities are not eligible to compete for, or receive, awards made under this announcement. Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement.
