Funding Priorities

  • The Illinois Office of Firearm Violence Prevention (OFVP) is seeking applications from those public and private nonprofit community-based organizations subject to 26 U.S.C. 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) of the tax code (26 U.S.C. 501(c)(3) or 26 U.S.C. 501(c)(4)) In addition to the above non-profit community-based organizations, eligible applicants are inclusive government organizations and education organizations that serve the eligible community area.
  • The OFVP intends to fund one or more organizations to deliver training, technical assistance, and support to IDHS-funded RPSA Youth Intervention Services and Trauma Informed Behavioral Health Organizations in the sixteen Greater Illinois areas. These grantees can request to receive training, technical assistance, and support from an IDHS- approved Training, Technical Assistance & Support provider. The Office funded Organizations will have complete authority to select among the approved TTAS providers who have been selected for funding under this Notice of Funding Opportunity. Further, through a competitive merit-based review and selection process, the OFVP expects to fund applicants who demonstrate the following OFVP funding priorities:
  • Have demonstrated experience expertise delivering training, technical assistance and support to a wide variety of youth serving organizations on the front lines of service delivery.
  • Have experience delivering organized training to adult and emerging adult learners that includes experience training non-provider staff.
  • Have a demonstrated history of ensuring high quality programming and efficient program delivery.
  • Propose a cost-effective and efficient training and support programming.

Funding Amount

  • Estimated Total Program Funding Approximately $3M will be made available for a 19-month project period (December 1, 2022 to June 30, 2024)
  • Award Range Average award amount: $900,000 for 19-month project period (December 1, 2022 to June 30, 2024).

Eligibility Criteria

This competitive funding opportunity is limited to applicants that meet the following requirements and are subject to limitations described below:

  • Eligible applicants are limited to those public and private nonprofit community-based organizations subject to 26 U.S.C. 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) of the tax code (26 U.S.C. 501(c)(3) or 26 U.S.C. 501(c)(4))
  • In addition to the above non-profit community-based organizations, eligible applicants are inclusive of government organizations and educational that provide services within the eligible community area.
  • The applicant has met the prequalification requirements and mandatory requirements listed in Item 2 and Item 6 below.
  • The applicant must have a current, organized training program in place for non-provider adult learners that includes experience training non-provider staff.
  • The applicant must have the ability to provide training, technical assistance and support to TIBHS and/or YIS providers in any/all Greater Illinois.
