Details:

The overall intent of this solicitation is to solicit partnerships to help enhance the implementation of key technical services and projects for Fiscal Year 2023.

The objective of this Notice of Funding is to obtain Technical Services and Projects to enhance Conservation Technical Assistance and Farm Bill Program Delivery across Georgia.

Technical services are defined as:

Technical expertise, information, training, education, and tools necessary for a producer to be able to successfully implement, operate, and maintain the conservation of natural resources on land active in agricultural, forestry, or related uses.

  • Technical assistance includes services provided directly to farmers, ranchers, and other eligible entities, such as conservation planning, technical consultation, and assistance with design and implementation of conservation practices in the state of Georgia.
  • Technical assistance regarding infrastructure, including activities, processes, tools, and agency functions needed to support delivery of technical services, such as technical standards, resource inventories, training, data, technology, monitoring, and effects analyses can be found.

NRCS invites proposals that support the adoption of SHMS in the following areas:

  • Soil Health
  • Urban Agriculture and Conservation Education
  • Irrigation Water Management Services
  • Rolling Hills Silvopasture
  • Wildlife Habitat Enhancement
  • Soil Health Testing
  • George Native Warm Season Grasses
  • Feral Swine Management, Pollination and Small Farmer Initiative

Funding Information

  • Estimated Total Program Funding: $8,000,000
  • Award Ceiling: $600,000
  • Award Floor: $25,000

Project Period

Projects may be between 1 and 4 years in duration.

Eligible Applicants

Applicants and applications must meet eligibility criteria by the application deadline to be considered for award. Eligible applicant type is determined by the implementing program statute. Applicant entities identified in the SAM.gov exclusions database as ineligible, prohibited/restricted, or excluded from receiving Federal contracts and certain Federal assistance and benefits will not be considered for Federal funding, as applicable to the funding being requested under this Federal program . Neither foreign entities nor individuals are eligible to apply for this opportunity.

Eligibility for this opportunity is limited to the following entity types:

  • City or township governments
  • County governments
  • For profit organizations other than small businesses
  • Independent school districts
  • Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
  • Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS (other than institutions of higher education)
  • Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS (other than institutions of higher education)
  • Private institutions of higher education
  • Public and State-controlled institutions of higher education k. Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities .
  • Small businesses.
  • Special district governments
  • State government
