The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, which has been directly involved in supporting and funding the local arts community for more than 25 years, will administer two structured grant programs to distribute this funding to 1) local artists and 2) small to medium-sized non-profit arts organizations. The Independent Artists program will offer one-time grants of up to $2,500 for Anne Arundel County-based independent, professional artists to compensate for financial losses sustained due to COVID19, including but not limited to closures and cancellations.

Eligibility Criteria
- Independent Artists, who are defined as artists who earn income from artistic activities and are not full-time salaried employees of a larger organization.
- Individuals must be 18 years of age or older.
- Applicants must be county residents (owning or renting residential real property in Anne Arundel County at the time of the submission of the application). Artists who have a studio or workspace in Anne Arundel but reside in another county will be considered for funding.
Who May NOT Apply:
- Artists whose income is derived from the creation or execution of artistic work for industry-oriented or industry-related production.
- Artists enrolled in high school or any undergraduate classes or programs during FY2022 (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022)
- Individuals pursuing graduate instruction in any artistic field in FY2022.
