2023-2024 WPLN Fellowship for Nonprofit Management Program

Dated: May 15, 2023

The 2023-2024 WPLN Fellowship for Nonprofit Management program will employ up to three Fellows to help build the capacity of their organization and State Partners, which identify, engage, and train women on the ground to run for office.

Donor Name: Women’s Public Leadership Network (WPLN)

State: All States

County: All Counties

Type of Grant: Fellowship

Deadline: 05/31/2023

Size of the Grant: $1,250

Details:

Women’s Public Leadership Network (WPLN) educates, organizes, and inspires center- and right-leaning women to seek public office at all levels across the U.S. and become effective leaders once there. They are building a network of support across the country that includes state-based organizations to identify, engage, and train women on the ground. They offer tools and opportunities designed to equip women with the knowledge and resources they need, including online content and access to a community of like-minded individuals who can help them on their journey.

Through this program, Fellows will receive mentorship opportunities and hands-on training on practical skills needed to support and scale nonprofits. Each Fellow will support program design, marketing, budgeting, communications, fundraising, data management, and brand building efforts to help WPLN achieve its mission to see more women at decision-making tables.

Funding Information

Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of $1,250.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be enrolled in an institution of higher education at the AA, BA, or graduate level. Ideal candidates will have a passion for increasing women’s representation in public office, especially those who identify as center- and right-leaning in their political ideology and want to strengthen their knowledge and skills in the nonprofit sector. They are looking for collaborative individuals who are willing to bring their creativity and unique perspectives to the program, operating with honesty and integrity.
  • Fellows must also commit to working 10 hours per week. Most activities will be done virtually although there will be a couple in-person programs.
  • At this time, applications are limited to only U.S. Citizens and U.S. permanent residents (i.e. green card holders).

Position Expectations

  • Under the supervision of the Fellows Director, the Fellow is responsible for accelerating WPLN’s mission through internal and external assignments, including but not limited to:
    • Assist in the development and implementation of at least two program events (i.e. Facebook Live, in-person training, etc.) to reach more women.
    • Write at least one blog post per semester, on a subject germane to your work with WPLN.
    • Design organization marketing materials to support these and other programs as needed, along with other communication needs.
    • Conduct a research project and present to WPLN Leadership Team & External Partners.
    • Lead a workshop at the National Summit.
  • In addition to the above activities, Fellows will have the opportunity to build their networks and nonprofit skills through:
    • Monthly calls with experts on different aspects of nonprofit management, including marketing, budgeting, management, operations, fundraising, strategic planning, and measurement & evaluation.
    • Work with members of the WPLN Leadership Team and State Partner Network, along with other leaders in the space, building relationships along the way.
    • Activities that strengthen your work portfolio including program execution, research projects, and graphic design.
