2023 HRCEF Impact Teaching Grants Program – Oregon

Dated: January 6, 2023

The Hood River County Education Foundation is interested in funding impactful and innovative educator and/or student-designed projects that exemplify excellence in education.

Donor Name: Hood River County Education Foundation

State: Oregon

County: Hood River County (OR)

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 01/09/2023

Size of the Grant: $2,000

Details:

The goal of the program is to provide the critical funds that will turn the best of these ideas into action. The program is open to any Hood River County School District teacher, staff, district employee or student.

Funding Information

Awards will not exceed $2,000 per named applicant. If multiple applicants join together on one application for a single grant, the total requested amount may exceed $2,000 but shall not exceed $2,000 per individual named on the application.

Kinds of projects

HRCEF wants to support impactful projects that enrich student learning through direct academic benefit, staff development or non-academic learning opportunities. Ideally, they are looking for innovative ideas that exhibit a creative or new approach, program, area of study or means of instruction, but they are open to awarding grants for items or ideas that significantly enhance student learning without being particularly innovative.

Grants will be considered based on cost-effectiveness, as well. They seek projects that impact a large number of students (either at one time or over a number of years) OR that involve a unique depth for a smaller number of students. Preference will be given to grants where two or more educators work together on a project, broadening the scope of impact and cost-effectiveness of grant monies. Educators are encouraged to pursue additional outside sources of funding either before or in addition to this grant, thus leveraging HRCEF’s funding as fully as possible.

Selection Criteria

Any Hood River County School District teacher, staff, employee or student is eligible to apply.

The following projects / requests are not eligible for funding under the Impact Teaching Grants Program

  • Projects covered by the HRCSD and/or school budget
  • Funds for fee-based programs, including preschools, after-school care, and any other programs requiring a fee for attendance or participation
  • Facilities improvements and/or upgrades, including both buildings and grounds
  • Funds to cover salaries or wages
  • Field trips – See the Impact Field Trip Grant Program for field trip funding.
