The Pierce County Small Business Innovation Matching Grant program helps small businesses located in unincorporated Pierce County and certain cities and towns move forward in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The grant can assist with innovative projects that will help businesses grow and ultimately become more resilient.
Funding Information
This matching grant will match 50% of expenses, up to a maximum of $20,000 of reimbursement, for innovations and capital projects to help you improve, grow and expand your business as you recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eligible Projects
Purchases of machinery, equipment, computer hardware, software, and point of sale systems necessary to expand or upgrade an existing facility, initiate a new line of business, or streamline a business process.
Business Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Round Three of this matching grant program, you must:
- Have been in business at least 2 years
- Have 20 or fewer full-time equivalent employees (including the business owner)
- Have a business physically located in Unincorporated Pierce County, or the following cities and towns:
- Buckley
- Carbonado
- Eatonville
- Fircrest
- Pacific (within Pierce County)
- Roy
- Ruston
- South Prairie
- Steilacoom
- Wilkeson
- Have an independent business and not a corporate chain or corporate franchise
- Have an active Washington State business license which shows your business location in an eligible area as described above
- Childcare businesses must be State licensed
- Childcare businesses MUST have a commercial lease or be a commercial property owner (in-home childcare settings are not eligible)
- Have not already submitted an application for Round One or Round Two of this grant program.
