The City of Scranton has made available $100,000 in funding for grants to nonprofit organization located within the city serving veterans and their families.
Grants are for programs to raise the quality of life for veterans in the city of Scranton, through such programs as supportive services, homelessness prevention, mental health services, addiction recovery, educational programs, financial assistance, capacity building, home rehabilitation, and facility upgrades.

Applications will be accepted online at the City Website through March 31, 2023, with awards of up to $25,000.00 being made on April 10, 2023.
Program Eligibility
- Applicants must be a 501c (3), 501c (19) or 501c (23) nonprofit, serving veterans and their families within the boundaries of the City of Scranton.
- Applicants must demonstrate the financial management and programmatic expertise to successfully implement and monitor the proposed activities. This expertise can be demonstrated through previous experience in successfully implementing projects similar to the one proposed, either by partners or key staff within the organization.
- Applicants will need to document all expenses. Programs may be funded in part or in full based on availability of funds. Funding decisions will be made by a committee of reviewers, which will include veteran representation.Priority will be given to applicants that demonstrate how the program will prioritize and support low-income veterans
