The Leadership Grants are centered around equity to significantly influence community outcomes and opportunities, as well as strengthen an efficient and effective nonprofit sector in Greater Des Moines.

- Addresses one or more of the 2024 grantmaking priorities, noting how the project utilizes equity-centered strategies for strengthening the community.
- Leverages other funders, partners, and/or stakeholders in a project that has the potential to create significant impact on community issues and opportunities in Greater Des Moines.

- Arts and Culture
- Advance regional cultural priorities through initiatives that leverage arts and cultural connections for social impact.
- Community Betterment
- Increase availability and improve access to effective mobility & transportation solutions.
- Increase availability of supportive services and improve access to safe and affordable permanent housing solutions.
- Prioritize inclusive economic development strategies that address inequities and foster community development.
- Education
- Partner for academic achievement through collaborative initiatives that support students and families, particularly those with multiple barriers to educational attainment and success.
- Develop strategies and systemic solutions to advance early childhood development and increase access to quality childcare.
- Health
- Advance access to physical and mental health resources through systemic efforts that support populations facing inequitable barriers.
- Social Capital
- Empower and engage diverse community voices to participate in and lead initiatives that develop and coordinate solutions to critical community needs.
- Strengthening Individuals and Families in the Community
- Connect support systems for vulnerable individuals and families.
- Develop progressive strategies and systemic solutions that address homelessness, reduce food insecurity, expand supportive services and safe, affordable housing, and/or build stronger financial futures.
- Workforce Development
- Expand opportunities for individuals who have experienced workforce disruption to upskill and re-skill through education/certification attainment, job training and employment connections.
- Nurture the future workforce by providing youth with learning and employment opportunities that prepare them for quality careers.
Funding Information
Typically, Leadership Grants range from $20,000 to $250,000 although there is no formal minimum or maximum.
