These grants will feed a new industry that was once a staple of Pennsylvania’s economy and is again presenting opportunities for farm income and jobs as well as new possibilities for climate-friendly, environmentally beneficial products.
The department will give special consideration to projects that leverage other funding and public-private partnerships. Eligible projects may include regional or national promotion.
Program objectives
- Purpose: The Department will award grants to provide matching funds to nonprofit agricultural product promotion and marketing organizations to reimburse up to 50% of the cost of projects intended to:
- Increase consumer awareness of agricultural hemp products within this Commonwealth and thereby increase sales of these agricultural hemp products.
- Educate producers and consumers with respect to agricultural hemp products within this Commonwealth.
- Otherwise facilitate the growth and development of export markets for agricultural hemp products within this Commonwealth.
2022-2023 Project Funding Priorities
The Department will prioritize eligible projects for promotion, education and export market development of agricultural hemp within this Commonwealth to receive grant funding.
Funding Information
The department plans to award $200,000 in matching funds to reimburse up to half of project costs, with a minimum grant amount of $1,000.
