Details:

Through its Arts Vibrancy Endowment, the Juneau Community Foundation strives to help create and maintain dynamic and accessible arts and culture opportunities for years to come. The Individual Artist Awards funded by this endowment enable local Juneau-based artists to develop their art and share it with the community.

All art forms and idioms including, but not limited to, visual arts, dance, music, fabric arts, photography, theater, and literary arts are eligible for grant funding from the Arts Vibrancy Endowment.

Funding Information

Total funds available for the 2022 Individual Artists Awards grant round is $20,000. Awards for this phase will be offered as follows: 2- $2,500 grants, 1- $5,000 grant, and 1- $10,000 grant.

Eligibility Criteria

Artists may apply for an Individual Artist Award if they meet the following eligibility requirement:

  • You must be a full-time Juneau resident, living in the City and Borough of Juneau for the past two years at the time of your application and remain a resident for the duration of the grant period.
  • You must be at least 18 years or older at the time of application.
  • You must currently be producing work.
  • Past Individual Artist Award recipients who have received their award at least two years ago and who have completed all reporting.

Artists are NOT eligible to apply if they are:

  • A student enrolled in any degree seeking program related to the arts at any educational level.
  • A current or former board member, committee member, staff member, or consultant for the Juneau Community Foundation, current advisory member or any member of a current advisor’s immediate
    family.
  • Individuals whose work or project is primarily of a research, scholarly, or commercial nature.
  • Artists who have received this award in the two prior years.
