Applications open for Icicle Fund Community Grants (Washington)

Dated: October 25, 2023

Community Grants are one- or two-year unrestricted grants for non-profit organizations who enhance North Central Washington as a region where nature, the arts, and the area’s natural and human history encourage appreciation, understanding and stewardship of this special place.

Donor Name: Icicle Fund

State: Washington

County: Chelan County (WA), Douglas County (WA), Okanogan County (WA)

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 12/01/2023

Size of the Grant: $3,000

Details:

With these unrestricted grants, nonprofits have the flexibility to do their most important work in the community in innovative and impactful ways as they invest in programs, salaries/benefits, technology, capacity-building, communications, and other efforts that strengthen the organization and its long-term mission delivery.

New this year is that all funding through the Community Grants Program will be unrestricted for work within the Icicle Fund service area and mission. Organizations whose service area reaches beyond Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan counties will be eligible to request funding for their work within these four counties. Organizations whose mission is broader than arts, history, or the environment will be able to apply for funding for the arts, history, and/or environmental aspects of the work.

Priorities

Grants value both young (upstart) and mature organizations that foster a collaborative atmosphere, deliver mission in innovative and impactful ways, and connects with diverse North Central Washington community.

  • Impactful
    • Grants believe that strong, resilient organizations are essential to a thriving community and region. Therefore, support organizations in doing their most powerful work in the community, implementing not only the high-profile but also the hard-to-fund projects while sustaining high performing organizations.
  • Collaborative
    • Grants fundamentally believe that by working together they can increase the impact of organizations across this region. When mutually beneficial, they encourage collaborative relationships with other organizations that service North Central Washington.
  • Connected
    • Grants believe that thriving communities encourage engagement and connection between their members. It values nonprofits that remove barriers to participation for community members who have been historically under-served or under-represented.
  • Mission
    • The three areas in which they awards grants are Environment, the Arts, and Cultural and Natural History. For more information and priorities in each focus area. Integration of two or more of these areas can be very powerful and is encouraged when relevant.
