The Lee County Charitable Fund is a volunteer grant committee made up of board members/volunteers from North Lee Community Foundation and the Keokuk Area Community Foundation. The Keokuk Area Community Foundation holds the Lee County Charitable Fund Endowment in trust, which in turn provides funding for the Lee County Charitable Fund.
In 2023, the Lee County Charitable Fund is offering two grant opportunities in one application. The 2023 Lee County Charitable Fund Grant Opportunities are the up to $25,000 IMPACT Grant and the up to $7,500 Grant for Lee County Programs/Capital Needs. In the application, the nonprofit organization applicant may choose ONE grant opportunity only.
Impact Grant
The Lee County Charitable Fund Board could distribute up to $25,000.00 in a Lee County Impact Grant to a Lee County nonprofit organization that is focused on providing an immediate impact in Lee County. Lee County nonprofit organizations can apply on an annual basis, but if an organization receives an IMPACT Grant, that organization will not be able to apply again for a 2-year period.
Up to $7,500 Grant Opportunity Option
The Lee County Charitable Fund invests in projects that primarily facilitate cooperation, collaboration, creativity and community organization in Lee County, Iowa. The Lee County Charitable Fund gives special emphasis to creative grant proposals that serve a broad sector of the community, are innovative, new and offer the greatest opportunities for positive and significant change in the communities of Lee County, Iowa. All projects should serve the charitable fields of arts and culture, community betterment, education, health care and human services.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Lee County Charitable Fund Board accepts applications from nonprofit organizations with a 501 (c) (3) status, governmental organizations, and educational organizations.
- In the online application, please attach one (1) copy of your organizations up-to-date IRS Determination Letter establishing that the applicant is a 501 (c) (3) organization or a notarized form demonstrating that the organization is a qualified exempt government agency of Lee County, Iowa.
- If the organization receives a grant, the address listed on the IRS 501 (c) (3) Determination Letter will be used in the payment (please make sure the contact information of your organization’s IRS 501 (c) (3) Determination Letter is up to date).
