This program consists of three parts:
- Small Business Emergency Relief Grants: $75,000 has been allocated towards this program that will allow small businesses that can demonstrate economic hardship due to the pandemic to receive grants up to $15,000 that can be used for paying rent, utilities, and other operating expenditures.
- Small Business Assistance Grants: $45,000 has been allocated towards this program that will allow small businesses that can demonstrate economic hardship due to the pandemic to receive grants of $10,000 that can be used for assistance in applying for other COVID-19 relief funds or business marketing assistance, with an emphasis on website upgrades.
- Community E-Gift Card Program: $15,000 has been allocated towards a community E-Gift Card program through which the City will offer “bonus cash” to any resident that purchases a gift card. The Chamber will be working with the City to sign up businesses for this program and to help businesses activate the cards on their point of sale systems.

- Small Business Assistance Grants: Grants up to $10,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- The business must have been opened and continuously operated in Canyon Lake prior to March 1, 2019.
- The business must be in good standing with the City (No outstanding fees; no open code enforcement actions against the business).
- The business must be headquartered/located in Canyon Lake.
- The business must be able to provide bank statements & balance sheets from March 1st to May 30th of 2019 and 2020.
- The business must submit proof of any previous COVID relief received
- Small Business Emergency Relief Grants:
- The business must submit proof of outstanding expenses, with a coversheet summarizing the expenses.
- The business must list the amount of time the business was closed
- Small Business Assistance Grants:
- The business must submit a detailed plan on how it will spend awarded grant funds, including but not limited to the cost of hiring a grant writer, the cost of any marketing plan/materials, and the cost of hiring staff to provide these services.
