Dated: September 4, 2023

The City of Centennial is accepting applications for the Broncos Youth Activity Grant Program.

Donor Name: City of Centennial

State: Colorado

City: Centennial

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: Ongoing

Size of the Grant: $10,000

Grant Duration: 1 year

Details:

Due to the sale of the Broncos Football Team, the City of Centennial is offering $900,000 in grant funding to support youth activity programs. The Metropolitan Football Stadium District was required to share a portion of the sale proceeds with local governments allowing the City to offer this opportunity.

Any projects seeking $10,000 or more require City Council approval. The funding received by the City was a one-time influx and therefore this grant program is not expected to continue indefinitely.

Funding Information

  • Organizations may apply for and receive a maximum of $200,000 for capital projects and a maximum of $100,000 for other initiatives.
  • Organizations that seek over $100,000 are required to demonstrate 10% matching funds from non-City sources.
  • Organizations that receive under $10,000 in funding receive an upfront disbursement of funds and are required to submit a summary describing use of funds and outcomes.
  • Organizations that receive $10,000 or more are reimbursed upon submittal of a final report, which will include an executive summary detailing project activities, detailed accounting of how the grant amount was used to support the project and documentation of paid invoices. Alternative reimbursement schedules may be considered with City discretion.

Grant Period

Projects must be completed within one year of execution of the grant agreement, or disbursement of funds for projects under $10,000.

Qualifications and Eligible Projects

  • Non-profit organizations in good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State and public entities are eligible for funding.
  • Applicants must clearly demonstrate how the project or initiative is meeting the stated goals above.
  • Applicants must demonstrate how capital projects will be maintained over time.
  • Applicants are required to clearly demonstrate and document benefit to Centennial youth. The applicant may also be required to demonstrate commitment from other communities served.
  • Capital projects and initiatives must be one-time investments or pilot programs unless the requesting entity can demonstrate a path to long-term, sustainable success, i.e., significant external partnership funding or a clear path to long-term financial sustainability.
  • Ongoing operational/maintenance costs will not be considered.
  • Preference will be given to applications for new projects that have not been previously considered.
  • Boy Scout Eagle, Girl Scout Gold or other similar projects may be considered with documented support from the organization up to $1,000.
