The purpose of the grant opportunity is to help build and reinforce a diverse and equitable cultural community in Edmonds, recognizing the uncertainty and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the necessity of changing strategies to create access for all to the arts.
Funding Information
- The City of Edmonds Arts Commission has total funding of $13,500 available for one-time 2022 small grants to individual artists, emerging artists, and other organizations seeking to support creativity, diversity, and access to arts in their community.
- Grants of $200 to $2,000 will be awarded to eligible recipients through a competitive application process.
Eligibility Criteria
Arts-based projects should support creativity, diversity, and access to arts in Edmonds through efforts in the literary, visual and performing arts. Applicants must be residents of Edmonds or an organization based in Edmonds. Collaborations are encouraged. Priority will be given to projects which are family appropriate and enhance access to arts. To be considered for funding, proposals must:
- Directly benefit residents living within Edmonds and the lead entity is Edmonds based.
- If the project involves an event, the primary venue must be located within Edmonds and meet Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards regarding physical accessibility to project venues.

What kinds of projects are Eligible?
EAC is committed to supporting all forms of arts in their community, including but not limited to visual, literary, performing, folk/traditional, and media arts. A wide range of projects and initiatives with an arts or cultural focus will be considered, such as (but not limited to) the following:
- Projects including performances, exhibits, educational opportunities (presentations/lectures, workshops, self-guided or virtual tours, storytelling, etc.), collaborations, video, virtual and online projects/podcasts of the above or other project, public community cultural events or events with a cultural focus, and other projects to expand capacity for access to arts and clear intent to reach Edmonds residents. Innovation to bring new modes of delivery, newly envisioned artwork, and reimagined programs is encouraged.
