Priority Population

Priority population served:

  • Disconnected youth, or youth who are not employed or in school,
  • Families with children,
  • Low-income households
  • People experiencing or recovering from abuse
  • People experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, including “doubled-up” families
  • People who are elderly, or have disabilities, and live on low fixed-incomes
  • People with limited financial literacy
  • People with mental health concerns
  • People with substance misuse or abuse challenges
  • Other.

Recommendations from the plan include: The establishment and/or expansion of:

  • Childcare services during non-traditional hours,
  • Mental health services that provide trauma-informed care,
  • Peer support groups,
  • Substance use and misuse education and services that provide trauma-informed care,
  • Tele-services or mobile-service delivery models, and
  • Transportation access during non-traditional transit hours.

Funding Information

  • They anticipate $214,400 to be available for community funding grants in the 2024 budget
  • Average grant awards have ranged from $1,500 to $15,000.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Non-profits that provide human or social services to benefit Goodyear residents. The services provided should not be duplicated by the city or another service provider. Agencies should be able to track the number of Goodyear residents served
  • Please be advised: Goodyear community funding recipients are prohibited from using Goodyear community funding to engage in inherently religious activities, such as proselytizing, scripture study, or worship. Funded faith-based organizations (FBOs) may, of course, engage in inherently religious activities; however, these activities must be separate in time or location from the funded program. Moreover, funded FBOs must not compel program beneficiaries to participate in inherently religious activities. Funded faith-based organizations must also not discriminate on the basis of religion in the delivery of services or benefits.
