The Helena Area Community Foundation (HACF) is pleased to announce a cycle for 2022, granting funds provided by the City of Helena.
Donor Name: Helena Area Community Foundation (HACF)
State: Montana
City: Helena
Type of Grant: Grant
Deadline: 11/18/2022
Size of the Grant: $2,000 and $14,000
Details:
Grants will be made between $2,000 and $14,000 per nonprofit organization. Grant dollars must be matched 1:1 in cash from other sources (in-kind contributions cannot be used as match). Therefore, if a nonprofit applies for $14,000 in funding, the program or project budget must be at least $28,000 and the organization must have (or have a specific plan to obtain) an additional $14,000 going toward the same program or project.
This funding is specifically earmarked to support nonprofit recovery from COVID-19. This can be related to losses in funding arising from COVID-19 impacts, increased demand for services, tools or equipment needed to retool, changes in community need due to COVID-19 impacts, etc. They encourage local nonprofits to thoughtfully consider the impacts of COVID-19 on their organizations and the community as a whole and to suggest projects or programs that address these impacts.
Nonprofits may not apply for grant funding for projects, programs, or other needs that have already been fulfilled by federal, state, or local COVID programs.
City of Helena’ COVID Recovery Funds may not be granted for projects or programs that:
- Promote or advocate any political or religious belief;
- Promote or solicit for:
- purchase or use of tobacco products;
- purchase, use or consumption of alcoholic beverages;
- commercial transactions for pornography or sexually explicit goods or services;
- services involving avoidance or termination of pregnancy; and/or
- advocate violence or discrimination against individuals or groups.
Organizations that house some projects that would not be eligible based on these criteria may still apply for projects that meet the above criteria.
Criteria
City of Helena COVID Recovery Fund will only be distributed to 501(c)(3) organizations in the greater Helena Area, with a priority given to organizations operating within the Helena city limits. Grants made to organizations operating outside the Helena city limits are subject to additional approval by the Helena City Manager prior to funding.
