Funding Priorities
Community Grants supports the efforts of organizations that are located and providing services in the Texas South Plains Region. The Foundation strives to achieve impact through its Community Grants Program by supporting projects that contribute to:
- Promoting pleasant, livable communities with thriving and sustainable economies;
- Preparing the next generation for adulthood and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all generations;
- Promoting self-sufficiency for vulnerable individuals and families; and
- Assuring that means are available to provide for the basic needs of individuals and families in times of trouble.
Funding Information
Typical grant awards range from $1,000 to $5,000, with $10,000 as the maximum generally awarded from the Community Fund.
Eligibility Criteria
Grantmaking policy and grant award decisions are made by the Board of Directors. The Foundation restricts its support to organizations in the 15-county South Plains region which are 501(c)(3) or the government equivalent. Grants may be made for programs and projects in the areas of Civic, Social and Economic Development; Education and Youth; Basic Needs and Self Sufficiency. The Foundation does not make grants to individuals, for political purposes, to retire indebtedness, or for payment of interest or taxes. All grant recipients must report on the expenditure of grant funds and results of the supported project within one year of the award.
