Dated: January 11, 2022

The City of Evanston is seeking applications for its Community Resiliency Through the Arts Fund.

Donor Name: City of Evanston

State: Illinois

City: Evanston

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline (mm/dd/yyyy): 01/31/2022

Size of the Grant: $50,000

Grant Duration: 1 year

Details:

The Evanston Arts Council has been tasked to distribute $50,000 of the Good Neighbor Racial Equity Fund to support Building Community Resiliency through the Arts.

This funding will mobilize artists and cultural and social service organizations to improve the quality of life and amplify voices in underserved communities.

In April 2021, the Arts Council formed a working group to develop a program that reflects the objective of building community resiliency through the arts. In developing the program, the working group conducted individual interviews with two arts organizations whose missions centered on building resiliency and held a town hall meeting with fifteen organizations providing a range of social services. Almost all the social service organizations had some experience with utilizing arts programs to support their mission. The arts programs were conducted mostly in groups and conducted by partnering with an arts organization.

Funding Information

Northwestern University in partnership with the City of Evanston has allocated a total of $50,000 through the Good Neighbor Fund toward this program. Artists/Arts Organizations serving Evanston would be provided a grant of $10,000 toward their arts residencies. At this time, this is a one-time allocation of funding.
