The Corridor Safety Enhancement Grant supports nonprofits in enhancing public safety on and around commercial corridors in the neighborhoods that they serve. All projects should aim to amplify a positive and inviting atmosphere of public safety. This in turn could increase foot traffic, reduce stress for business owners, attract new businesses or promote available commercial real estate within business districts or corridors. Examples include but not limited to:
- Resources, such as alarm systems and toolkits
- Events and festivals, such as night markets, corridor parades and resource fairs
- Outreach efforts and marketing campaigns such as booklet designs
- Placemaking and beautification efforts such as planters, community art projects and murals
- Programs, such as business safety, CPR trainings, holistic wellness and trauma-informed health services for businesses and community leaders
Funding Information
Applicants can apply for an award amount of between $10,000 and $34,000 to complete their project.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be a community-serving nonprofit organization located in the City of Philadelphia. This grant is meant to serve commercial corridors and businesses. If you received this grant before, you could apply again. However, you are encouraged to propose a new project related to public safety.
Creative or innovative project ideas are welcomed.
Note: If you received the Corridor Safety Enhancement Grant 2022, you must submit your reports before applying for this year’s grant.
