More than 30 years ago, The Community Foundation established the Art Ventures Fund to acknowledge the important role the arts play in bringing people together through shared cultural experiences. In the same way a community foundation reflects the values of a region, the arts broadly embrace and include all citizens.
With inclusion as a guiding principle, The Community Foundation is distinctly proud of the Art Ventures Fund and the artists who have been recognized for creating these important cultural experiences for all.
These grants are offered to help individual artists take the next step in their artistic development.

Up to $3,500
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be:
- At least 18 years of age;
- Legal residents of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, or St. Johns Counties and have resided in one of these counties for at least 12 months at the time of application;
- Currently active in conceiving and creating new original work, and be the originators of this work. Art Ventures does not make grants to individuals who focus on the development/production of the creative work of others.
- Requesting funding for activities which will take place June 15, 2022 – May 30, 2023. No grant funds may be used for expenditures which occur prior to June 15, 2022.
Applicants may NOT be:
- Students currently enrolled in an art-related degree program, or planning to pursue an art-related degree in the coming year;
- Curators, presenters, promoters, researchers, or festival organizers;
- A recipient of 2021 Art Ventures grant. Due to the high demand for grants, artists may not receive grants in consecutive years and are only eligible to receive three Individual Artist grants in a lifetime.
