Mini-grants are available to organizations to provide tobacco and vaping education programs to youth, tobacco cessation services for youth and/or adults, or tobacco merchant education services within Frederick County, Maryland. Funded programs must focus on tobacco and vaping prevention activities to educate youth about the dangers of youth tobacco use, vaping, ESDs, secondhand smoke, tobacco/nicotine/vape cessation, or tobacco merchant education. Activities may be in-person with appropriate safety precautions in place, virtual or a combination of both. Mini-grants will be awarded on a competitive basis.
Priority consideration will be given for projects that deliver:
- Education to youth on the dangers of tobacco use and vaping, including ESDs, to as many youth as possible;
- Cessation services to as many youth or adults as possible;
- Deliver tobacco merchant education to 85 tobacco merchants; and
- Greater consideration will be given to educational programs conducted in coordination with other substance use prevention events, campaigns, and observances
Funding Information
The total dollar amount per award may not exceed $5,000.00.

For Frederick County employers, non-profits, community organizations, and government agencies, the Tobacco Free Frederick program can offer free on-site Stop Smoking for Life classes.
