The Foundation wants to hear from organizations that support older adults, and their caregivers, to live healthy & productive lives in the least restrictive environment possible, based on their individual circumstances. Recognizing that health and social service providers tend to operate in silos, often not by choice but by design, priority will be given to proposals that demonstrate collaborative efforts with other service providers. Preference will also be given to proposals that support individuals facing barriers to access such as income and inequities related to race, culture, gender, disability, etc.
Funding Information
The Foundation expects to award $100,000 during this grant cycle. The maximum request is $50,000. Organizations are encouraged to apply for new or existing programs.
Geographical Focus
An applicant organization’s services must benefit individuals in one or more of the following towns: Portsmouth, Rye, New Castle, Greenland, Newington and North Hampton, New Hampshire: Kittery, Eliot and York, Maine.
Eligibility Criteria
- Those qualified as tax-exempt under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3) and are not private foundations.
- Entities which are supported through public dollars and perform health-related functions such as municipalities, schools, and colleges.
- Consortiums or community partnerships with a fiscal agent or sponsor.
- If your organization/project is not a 501(c)(3) entity and plans to use a fiscal sponsor, that sponsor should send a cover letter with the proposal indicating it has approved the project for funding. Pre-approval by the fiscal sponsor is necessary for the Foundation to proceed with the funding request. The fiscal sponsor will be considered the grantee.
Ineligibility
The following types of requests are typically not eligible for funding:
- Support of political activities
- Support of sectarian religious programs
- Grants to individuals
- Short or long-term loans or re-payment of financial obligations
- Grants for capital expenditures or campaigns.
