Grants for Non-Home-based Child Care Businesses located in Colorado

Dated: June 7, 2022

The City of Boulder has dedicated a portion of its federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to provide grants for state licensed, non-home-based child care businesses, including women- and minority-owned businesses and 501(c)3 nonprofits, located in Boulder that continue to be negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Donor Name: City of Boulder

State: Colorado

City: Boulder

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline (mm/dd/yyyy): 06/20/2022

Size of the Grant: $5,000

Details:

One-time grants in the amount of $1,000, $2,500 or $5,000 will be awarded through a competitive application process. The Boulder ARPA Child Care Grant is in addition to ongoing support for child care providers and needs-based support for families with low incomes seeking child care provided through the city’s Housing and Human Services department. The city is also planning for additional child care investments with ARPA funding.

Grant applications will be evaluated based on financial need, adaptation to changing business conditions, planned use of funds, intent to continue operation and other factors. Grant awards will be made until the $100,000 in funding for this program is exhausted. The number of grant applications may exceed available funding and it is possible that not all applicants will be awarded a grant.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be privately held
  • Have a physical (brick-and-mortar) presence located within Boulder city limits (home-based providers are not eligible for this grant)
  • Have a State of Colorado child care center license
  • Provide year-round child care
  • Have an active City of Boulder business license or proof of application (grants may be provisionally approved for businesses that have applied for a license; however, grants will only be awarded to businesses with a City of Boulder business license)
  • Be current on all City of Boulder utility and tax payments or on a payment plan with the city
  • Currently employ between 2 and 49 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees (sole proprietors are not eligible for this grant)
