Basic Operating Grants (BOGs) are designed to support arts and design nonprofit organizations in the greater High Point area. Funds are directly provided by the High Point Arts Council (HPAC) and are provided on an ongoing basis to support and strengthen the artistic and administrative functions of these organizations. They understand that basic operating support is difficult to come by in the nonprofit world, so HPAC would like to provide this grant opportunity to address a need in the community.
Funding Information
The High Point Arts Council (HPAC) has a budget of $40,000 to distribute for the 2023-2024 granting year. Knowing this, please be mindful of your request. An organization may not request greater than $20,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a nonprofit arts or design organization with a 501(c)(3) state and federal tax- exempt status that serves the greater High Point area.
- Must have 75% of programming be related to the arts and/or design.
- Must have consistently produced arts and/or design programs for a minimum of two years.
- Must provide current financial reports (updated yearly budget, most recent financial statement and balance sheet).
- Must maintain a board of directors which meets at least quarterly.
- Must have a board-approved long range plan.
Evaluation Criteria
Each application is reviewed by a committee of the HPAC. Each application is evaluated on the following areas:
- Programming and Artistic Excellence
- Organization Stability
- Service and Community Engagement
- Respect, service, and commitment for HPAC’s mission
- Financial Sustainability.
