KCAIC supports public art programs across all Kansas communities. In addition to KCAIC Mural and Public Art grants, they work in partnership with the Office of Rural Prosperity, to provide more funding options for communities to create and install public works of art.
This program provides funding for communities to activate publicly accessible spaces for the purposes of artistic use and public programming. The program is designed to utilize permanent and semi-permanent arts installations to increase community vibrancy and provide space for artistic expression and public engagement.
Funding Information
- Maximum Request – $10,000
- 1:1 match required (for a $10,000 award, $10,000 – match required, of which 75% may be in-kind, except for rural communities with a population less than 15,000 for which 100% of the match can be in-kind).
Grant Period
- Period of Performance: July 1, 2023 – December 31, 2024 (18 months).
Eligible Expenses
- Artist and consultant fees including travel expenses and accommodation expenses
- Expenses, including travel, related to employee professional development
- Applicable project materials and supplies
- Additional administrative costs (beyond annually budgeted general operating costs) related to the approved project.
- Allowable marketing expenses directly related to the approved project. (This does not include campaigns or materials used solely to raise awareness of the organization.)
- Equipment purchases under $5,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Established 501c3 organizations, units of local government, federally recognized tribes
- Be incorporated in Kansas and in good standing with the state
- Have fulfilled all outstanding contractual obligations with KCAIC
- Have a SAM UEI number.
