Details:

The focus of the grant round is to make deeper and more meaningful lasting connections among non-profit organizations on the Plateau, the “Make Lasting Connections” celebration and grant. In issuing this call for proposal, the goal of the SCCF board is to foster connections between and among organizations on the Plateau to address big challenges we all face as a community.

Focus Areas

  • Community and Economic Development: Proposals might include but are not limited to efforts that increase business opportunities, job and career training, community building activities, efforts to increase/improve housing and transportation, initiatives in the arts, cultural and historic awareness and preservation, land preservation, and initiatives that encourage community planning, collaboration, and creative approaches.
  • Education: Proposals might include but are not limited to efforts in early education, parent and family involvement activities, school-aged and college support activities, adult education, and all initiatives that are intended to increase access to libraries and reading, the arts, and life-long love of learning.
  • Health: Proposals might include but are not limited to efforts to assure health access, to increase prevention programs, to improve access to healthy food, increased access to fitness activities and community planning and awareness efforts around health improvement.

Funding Information

Partnerships may apply for up to $50,000, and the board will consider projects ranging from $15,000 to $50,000.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications will be accepted from a partnership of two or more organizations that are working together to address a challenge they have mutually agreed upon. Any organization in their service area (all of Grundy County and the portions of the Cumberland Plateau in Franklin—including Sherwood—and Marion Counties) that is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions (including 501c3 nonprofits, churches, organizations that have applied for 501c3 status, or government entities may be part of an applicant team. In addition, similar organizations headquartered outside service area but which are proposing projects that directly and specifically benefit the people of the South Cumberland may be part of an applicant team.
