Details:

The Meek Mobilize Grants Program seeks the best ideas, projects, programs and initiatives that mobilize residents around issues that matter to them and strengthen their community. It’s an effort to unite residents in Opa-locka, Florida City and Liberty City behind critical quality of life causes impacting Miami-Dade’s Black and Brown communities.

They’re looking for programs and projects that:

  • Mobilize — Encourage more residents to get engaged and help improve the civic health and well-being of their surrounding neighborhoods
  • Connect — Build block-by-block connections between neighbors around a cause they care about
  • Build — Support programs or projects to improve resident and neighborhood quality of life in the areas of Education, Health, Housing and Economic and Community Development. Special consideration will be given to projects linked to Community Safety.

Funding Information

  • Most grants will range between $2,500 and $10,000 to help support a project.
  • They expect to make about 5-10 grants in each of the three communities.
  • Grants will be made in January 2022 and must be used by December 31, 2022

Eligibility Criteria

The grant program will provide support to nonprofit organizations, faith-based institutions, community groups, business owners, residents and neighborhood champions/activists organizing grassroots community building efforts in Opa-locka, Florida City and Liberty City.
