Priorities

AIDS United will prioritize support for organizations that center people living with HIV in all aspects of his work. In addition, they will fund projects that are creative, address the leadership and capacity development of people living with HIV, address the reduction of HIV stigma and engage in prevention and improving confidence in care, rooted in a deep understanding of MIPA principles at the community and organizational level.

The initiative provides training and technical assistance to beneficiary organizations in partnership with their national Latino partners to support people’s leadership development living with HIV within the subsidized organisations.

There is an evaluation component with this grant. They will help and guide dealers to capture valuable information that they can use to expand and develop future programs and will also be vital to future AIDS United grantmaking in Latino communities living with or vulnerable to HIV.

The goals of the initiative are to support organizations that:

  • Increase access and participation in prevention and care.
  • Improve confidence in care.
  • Reduce HIV-related stigma.
  • Raise the voices of people living with or vulnerable to HIV.

Funding Information

They anticipate making six to eight grant awards that will range from $10,000 to $25,000 per award for an eight-month project period.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a grant, applicants must meet the following:

  • “Nonprofit status” — Applicants must be nonprofit organizations, exempt from taxed according to guidelines established by the Internal Revenue Service with 501 status (c) (3) adequate. Organizations that do not have 501(c)(3) status must have a relationship already established with a fiscal sponsor having such status.
  • Location — only organizations located and operating in the United States or United States territories. the United States, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands can apply.
  • Organizational capacity — Organizations must be financially secure with or without grant funds. This grant is not intended to help start new organizations or serve as a replacement for discontinued funding.
  • Budget Parameters: Organizations submitting a pre-application must have an annual operating budget not to exceed $1 million. Note: This parameter applies to the requesting organization, not the fiscal sponsor; the fiscal sponsor may have a annual operating budget greater than $1 million.
  • Representation of people living with HIV — Representation of people living with HIV is required. people living with HIV in the applicant organization. The solid representation tables show a commitment to the building leadership of people living with HIV at all levels of staff and they should reflect the intersections of the communities served.
  • organizations that do not have people living with HIV in the representation table will not be considered for the foundership.

Project Support

AIDS United will fund projects that will accomplish some or all of the following:

  • Improve investment and strengthen networks, leadership and advocacy efforts in Latino communities of gay, bisexual, and trans men to educate and decrease the stigma regarding HIV.
  • Build the capacity of organizations funded through technical assistance culturally humble, competent and linguistically accessible.
  • Support the improvement of local community networks, as well as take advantage of associations to support connection and decrease isolation.
  • Expand advocacy efforts, educational efforts, and stigma reduction in based on your local, state, and federal needs that affect people living with HIV, through community-identified approaches.
