DVLF 2022-2023 LGBTQ+ Emerging Needs Grant Program

Dated: September 27, 2022

Applications are now open for the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund (DVLF) to distribute funds to organizations that are at the front lines of meeting the emerging needs of the region’s LGBTQ+ community.

Donor Name: Delaware Valley Legacy Fund

States: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware

County: Selected Counties

City: Philadelphia

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 10/14/2022

Size of the Grant: up to $5,000

Details:

This includes a variety of funding areas including: legal and civil rights, arts and culture, education and the humanities, and health and social services. Funding is directed to organizations serving the communities of Philadelphia and Southeastern PA, Southern New Jersey and New Castle County, Delaware.

DVLF invests in 501(c)3 organizations (or organizations under a 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor) with programs that serve LGBTQ+ constituents as a majority within the following Delaware Valley counties: Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, New Castle, or Sussex.

Grants are made from their endowment at The Philadelphia Foundation as well as from general fundraising and partnerships with other philanthropic groups and individuals.  While grants are available to a broad range of applicant organizations—in order to meet the emerging needs of the LGBTQ+ community– funding priorities may occasionally focus grant making in order to take advantage of specific partnership opportunities.

Funding Information

Eligible applicants seek to respond to emerging needs in the community, and complete the form below, including attachments, to be considered for a grant of up to $5,000. A typical award is $2,500 and DVLF does not offer multi-year grants.

Eligibility Criteria

A majority of the entire constituency served by the organization (or program for which funding is being requested) must be LGBTQ+ identified. Organizations serving people of color, Trans and Gender-nonconforming individuals, and low-income constituencies are encouraged to apply.

Please note they do not fund the following:

  • Grants to individuals
  • Grants to for-profit organizations or institutions
  • National, umbrella, or re-granting organizations
  • Deficit financing or emergency aid
  • Purchase of tickets, tables, ads, or sponsorships
  • Parties, and one-time fair events
