Open Call for Mid-Cape Cultural Council Grants in Massachusetts

The Mid-Cape Cultural Council promotes and supports the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences to benefit people in the towns of Barnstable and Yarmouth.

Details:

The Mid-Cape Cultural Council is charged with gathering input from the communities of Barnstable and Yarmouth to determine local priorities for funding. Considering the responses to their Community Input/Funding Priorities Survey conducted through the fall of 2021, this year the Council will prioritize funding for:

  • Community-wide gatherings, festivals, fairs, concerts, plays
  • Children’s and school age programs
  • Projects celebrating local history and cultural diversity
  • Low cost or free cultural events
  • Nature, science, environmental and education projects

Funding Information

Generally, awards are not less than $250 or more than $1,500.

Eligibility Criteria

The Mid-Cape Cultural Council encourages applicants to review the state guidelines for Local Cultural Councils and the following local guidelines:

  • Project must benefit people (audiences, artists, students, etc.) in Barnstable and/or Yarmouth.
  • Project goals are achievable, and budget is realistic.
  • Applications for the same project shall be eligible for funding for a maximum of 3 consecutive years, at the discretion of the Council.
  • If applicant is not from the venue, a letter of interest in the program from a representative of the venue with the application is recommended. Note: Location will not be precluded from their own grant application
  • Applicants are discouraged from submitting more than one application per fiscal year, but if more than one application is submitted, applicants should prioritize them in an accompanying letter.
  • If individuals or organizations collaborate on a single application, one member of the collaboration must be designated as the lead applicant for fiscal management purposes.
  • Applicant must credit Mid-Cape Cultural Council for partial or full funding of event or project.
  • No late applications will be considered.
