2023 Local Priorities
- They encourage projects benefiting artists in the 9-town area of North Quabbin (Athol, Erving, New Salem, Orange, Petersham, Phillipston, Royalston, Warwick, and Wendell).
- They encourage one-time expenditures.
- They encourage smaller requests, due to limited funding. For projects with a total budget exceeding $500, applicants are expected to secure partial funding from another source.
- They encourage new applicants and new projects.
- They encourage community wide gatherings such as festivals, concerts and plays, as well as visual and audiovisual art projects that benefit the community. Online projects will also be considered, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
- They encourage projects celebrating local history, cultural diversity or the natural world.
- They encourage projects that target youth both inside and outside of school.
- They encourage field trips to museums or performances.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must reside or be located in Massachusetts. Local Cultural Councils may accept applications from anyone included in the following list:
- Individuals
- Incorporated private nonprofit organizations.
- Unincorporated associations that can establish a nonprofit objective.
- Public schools, libraries, other municipal agencies, and the Local Cultural Council itself.
- Religious organizations.
